Hi there–making a first blog post is kind of like swimming you just have to stick your toe in the water first. I’m not usually the first one to swim of the three of us, but I figure that I’d be the first one to post–so Welcome to The Cakewalk!
For the complete strangers reading this–The Cakewalk is a coast-to-coast conversation between three friends living respectively in Vancouver (Lawn), Maple Ridge (Nanners) and Toronto (Jess). Knowing us, this blog will probably be about recipies, knitting, sewing, strange dolls, art, cheap clothes, gratuitious pet photos, the odd cd review and lots of books.
Not much new to report on this labour day weekend–I hoped to get some sewing time in, but the apartment is pretty warm, and instead I’ve been spending lots of time outside. I am very excited about the fact that Vancouver has a new yarn store with lots of yummy dyed handspun stuff….Yum: article here and underdeveloped website here. After I finish my mittens, I have a strange compulsion to knit socks–don’t ask me why, I swore I never would. There HAS to be better things to do with my time.
